LAWRENCE CHARLES "LARRY" HESSE, age 95, of Camden, Ohio died Friday, November 19, 2010 at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton. Born on May 25, 1915 in Norwood, Ohio he is the son of the late Fred Louis & Anna Sophie (Biermann) Hesse. Lawrence owned and operated Larry's Meats at Five Points in Hamilton, Ohio as a meat cutter for several years. He worked at I.G.A. in Trenton, Ohio for several years. He enjoyed raising sheep on his farm in Camden, Ohio and at his small farm and business at Five Points in Hamilton, Ohio.

Lawrence proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant for the Transportation Corps during the Guadalcanal Campaign in the Pacific where he received the Bronze Star. Preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Dorothy Marie (King) Hesse in 1978; brother, Robert Hesse in 1979.

Survived by his daughters & sons-in-law, Linda S. & Thomas A. Blevens of Camden, Ohio, Monika K. Hesse of Hamilton, Ohio and Amy L. & John S. Phillips of Camden, Ohio; brother & sister-in-law: Melvin & Betty Hesse of Hamilton, Ohio; grandchildren, Robert & Ellen Blevens, Emily & Bo Rutherford, Owen Chrisman, Christian Arnold, Sarah & Chris Vespi and Mark Phillips; great grandchildren, Bonnie, Belle, Michael, Griffen, Courtney, Skyler, Zared, Ethan and Breasia,; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to the staff at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton, Ohio and Hospice of Dayton for all their compassion and care.

Funeral Service will be held 12:00 P.M. Tuesday November 23, 2010 at Nein - Barnes Funeral Home, 249 North Main Street, Camden, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Allen Minor & Rev. Dr. Reva Minor officiating. Interment will be held at Fairmount Cemetery in Camden, Ohio with full military honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Tuesday November 23, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
