Laura Lou (Scott) Wesler

Laura Lou (Scott) Wesler, age 90, of Richmond, Indiana went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 7, 2021 surrounded by family at her son’s home.  Born on October 28, 1930 in Richmond, Indiana, daughter of the late Floyd Miller & Hazel Irene (Kinley) Scott.

Laura graduated in 1948 from Whitewater High School.  Owner of Laura’s Dairy Ranch in New Paris in the 1980’s.  She had worked at the Indiana Farm Bureau in the 1990’s and retired from Walmart in Eaton at the age of 81.   

Member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority of New Paris.  She taught unconditional love and would give the shirt off her back to not only her family but to total strangers.  Laura was a resident of the Leland Legacy and was known as the candy lady.   

She will be missed by many!   

Preceded by her Son, Steven S. Wesler in 2007; Daughter-in-law, Brenda Sue Wesler in 2013; Brother, Bill Scott; Sister, Betty Webb. 

Survived by her Children, Rev. Mark Wesler, Susan Wesler and Rev. Paul (Lisa) Wesler; Nine Prized Grandchildren, Marci (Trent) Theobald, Candace (Elijah) Adams, Jocelyn (Evan) Deal, Scott (Keli) Wesler, Stephen “Nick” Wesler, Marissa Wesler (Travis), Micaiah (Kristen) Wesler, Elias Wesler and Caleb (Maggie) Wesler; 14 Great Grandchildren, Colby, Nicaeli, Jesse, Gracie, Micah, Bianca, Sage, Jayden, Kinley, Kolsen, Otto, Eliza, Ben and Asher; Nieces, Lee McCloud and Marcy Brooks; Numerous Friends. 

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St., New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Paul Wesler officiating.  Interment will be held at Goshen Cemetery in Richmond, Indiana.  Family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday prior to the funeral.  Condolences via www.barnesfuneralhome.com
