June I Walker

JUNE IRIS WALKER, age 84, of New Paris, Ohio, died Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Arbor Trace Senior Living Center in Richmond, Indiana. Born on June 19, 1923 in Darke County, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Lloyd & Blanche (Bush) Sarver. She was a graduate of Monroe High School in Eldorado, Ohio and had worked for over 20 years as an assistant to Dr. Carroll in New Paris and was the owner and operator of June Walker’s Flowers in New Paris. She was a past co-chief with the New Paris Emergency Squad and had worked for the New Paris News. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church where she was very involved with the children’s activities and where she headed the Food Bank. She was also a member of the New Paris Chamber of Commerce, the Apple Festival Committee and was a member and past worthy matron of the Eastern Star # 310 in New Paris.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Karen & Jim Abrams of Richmond, Sharen & Rick Spahr of New Paris, Skeeter & Steve Hawley of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Jane & Bill Sweet of New Paris; Sisters: Phyllis Werts of Eaton and Norma Wahl of Melbourne, Florida and brother: Dale Sarver of Medway, Ohio. Seven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held in Monroe Cemetery near Eldorado, Ohio. Arrangements are entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio 45347. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Food Bank at St. Paul United Methodist Church- 301 E.
