Joyce K. Sheard

JOYCE K. SHEARD, 88, of Eaton, Ohio, died Monday, June 13, 2011 at The Hospice of Dayton. Joyce was born in Kentucky on July 10, 1922, daughter of the late Thomas and Lillian (Abney) Purvis. She retired in 1983 from Monsanto Corp. in Miamisburg, Ohio and was a member of the Eaton First Church of God in Eaton.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. Sheard in 1994; son, Roger E. Sheard in 2002; daughters, Joyce A. Bailey in 2011 and Sondra K. Conklin in 2008; sisters, Fary Fisher in 2001, Laura Darr in 2009 and Viola Ross in 2006; brothers, Rapheal Purvis in 1995 and Willie Purvis in 2006; granddaughter, Julie Sheard in 1989.

Joyce is survived by her sister, Lucille Jackson of Lebanon, Ohio; brother, John Purvis of Indiana; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, Ohio with Rev. David Reames and Rev. Jerry Reynolds officiating. Interment will be held in Fairmount Cemetery in Camden. Family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
