John K. White

John K. White age 85, of Eaton (Lakengren), OH died Friday evening, February 20, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton. Born on May 30, 1929 in Butler County, OH he was the son of the late Kenneth M. & Marjorie (Stier) White. John was a 1947 Camden High School graduate and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In 1951 he received his Bachelor's Degree at The Ohio State University and his Master's Degree from Miami University. In 1985 he retired after 30 years of service with Dayton City Schools as a Teacher, Counselor and Administrator. Member of Preble County Retired Teachers Association; O.E.A; N.E.A; Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity; Camden United Methodist Church and active in the grant for the restoration of the Camden Town Hall. Preceded in death by his first wife: Marjorie Ferris White in 1999; brother: James R. White in 2003 and sister-in-law: Elizabeth White in 2009.

Survived by his wife: Phyllis (Cox) White; sons: Allen K. White of Santa Rosa, California, Todd K. White of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Robert Lawson of Eaton, OH; daughters: Barbara W. Kaycee of Littleton, Colorado and Marci Lawson of Burke, Virginia; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer Marie Riley, Amie E. Mercier, Kyle S. Smith, Cory D. Smith, Nicole A. White, Alyssa R. White, Rachael A. White, Luke Skrzypczak, Alexandra Lawson and Emily Skrzypczak; 3 great grandchildren: Sage Riley, Callahan Riley and Theodore Mercier.

Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Nein-Barnes Funeral Home – 249 North Main Street – Camden, Ohio. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Fred Schmidt officiating. The Preble County Honor Guard will provide military honors.
