James "Jim" M. Karns

James M. “Jim” Karns, age 80 of Eaton, OH died on Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Born on November 5, 1937 in Eaton, OH, son of the late Cash Mack & Edna Kidd (William) Karns. Jim worked at Kroger in Eaton, OH for 7 years, H. F. Hawkins in Brookville, OH for 20 years and J. E. Parker & Company in Eaton, OH for 20 years.

Preceded by his son, Charles Allen Karns in 1967; brother, Don R. Karns in 1986; sisters, Virginia L. Scott in 1983, Martha Downing in 1960, Peggy Eileen Karns in 1946 and Ruth Karns; brothers-in-law, Robert Allison & Lee Scott; sister-in-law, Pauline Karns

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Chesta (Suman) Karns; sons, Mike (Kristy) Bergen and Robert “Bobby” (Misti Hawkins) Bergen; daughters, Julia “Julie” (Richard Freeman) Baker and Vickie Karns; sister, Dorothy Ditmer; brother-in-law, Bob (Irene) Suman grandchildren, Gabriel Bergen, Blake Bergen, Tiphani Bergen, Zachary Bergen, Seth Bergen, Steven Lutz, Cheylah Lutz, Dakota Lutz, Katlynn Lutz, Jazmyn Lutz, Stormy Freeman, Jessica (Jeremy) Davis, Jennifer (Chad) Kinney and Dylan Karns; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 E. Main St., Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Elbert Sorrell officiating. Interment will be held at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday prior to the funeral.
