HELEN L. HAWLEY, age 97, of Eaton, Ohio, died Saturday March 24, 2007 at Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton, Ohio. Born on October 30, 1909 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Robert Murray & Daisy Mabelle (Traul) Clark. She was a 1927 graduate of the Fairview High School in Dayton, Ohio; 1928 graduate of Miami Jacobs Business School in Dayton; her family moved to Eaton, Ohio in 1952; 60 year member of the Eastern Star in Dayton; member White Shrine of Eaton; member of the St Paul United Methodist Church in Eaton where she sang in the church choir for over 50 years; member of the St Paul church circle.
Preceded in death by her husband: L. Thurman Hawley in 1988; sister: Pauline Carpenter in 1995; brother: George R. Clark in 1996.
Survived by her daughters & son-in-law: Charlene M. (Stanley) Ashworth of Greensboro, North Carolina and Karen L. Windle of Delaware, Ohio. Son & daughter-in-law: Don L. (Susie) Hawley of Eaton, Ohio. Six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday March 29, 2007 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street , Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Steve Cann officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
