Harold E. Price

HAROLD E. PRICE, age 94 of Lewisburg, Ohio died Friday, April 11, 2003 at Heartland of Eaton after a short illness. Born in Preble County October 25, 1908 son of the late Herbert & Elsie (Hapner) Price. He was a 1927 Monroe High School graduate. He was a retired tobacco farmer for 65 years and was a Trapper for 75 years. His farm has been in the Price family since 1856 and he has lived along the National Trail for 94 years. He taught farming to over 300 young boys in his lifetime.

Member of the Preble County Farm Bureau for over 60 years; Preble County Covered Bridge Society; Historical Societies of Preble County, Ohio, Darke County, Ohio, Wayne County, Indiana, Lewisburg, Ohio and Rockingham County, Virginia; Lewisburg United Methodist Church - Lewisburg, Ohio; Farm Representative for Preble County to the Tobacco Council in Columbus, Ohio and Washington, D.C.; Genealogy Historical Society helping with the History Book of Preble County; Served on the Election Board in Monroe Township - Preble County. Preceded in death by Wife of 62 years: Irene C. (Baker) Price in 1994; Brother: Leonard Price in 1936; Sister: Helen Richards in 1986.

Survived by Sons & Daughters-In-Law: Keith E. & Sonja M. Price and Leland L. & Mary Ann Price of Lewisburg, Ohio; Grandchildren: Cheryl A. (Jeff) Scheiding and Marc B. Price of Lewisburg; Lisa M. (Todd) Rothwell of West Manchester, Ohio; Great Grandchildren: Sheena & Bradley Rothwell and Jason & Kevin Scheiding.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2003 - 11:00 A.M. at the Barnes Funeral Home - 411 North Commerce Street - Lewisburg, Ohio with Rev. Raymond Rothwell officiating. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 14, 2003 from 4 - 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
