Gayle E. Settles

Gayle E. Settles, 79, of New Paris, OH died, Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his residence. Born on August 25, 1936 in Richmond, IN, he was the son of the late Edgar W. & Frances (Sturgis) Settles. Gayle retired after 27 years with Natco in Richmond and was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict veteran and member of the American Legion for 39 years including Post 360 in New Paris and the Post in New Madison. A 1954 graduate of Fountain City High School and was an avid Golfer, Bowler, Fisherman, Basketball, Softball and Nascar Fan.

Preceded in death by his former wife: Beverly Settles in 2012; Sister: Connie Marie Hawkins in 2011; Son-in-law: TR Thomason in 2000.Grandchildren: Jeremy Settles and Abigayle Scott.

Survived by his children: Pamela Settles, Richmond, IN, Sandra Thomason, New Paris, OH; Cindy Settles (Brett Bond), Lebanon, TN, Lee (Suzanne) Settles, Lebanon, TN and Karen Settles (Nathan Shaffer), Clayton, MI; Grandchildren: Jesse Settles, Dylan Goff, Regan Scott, CaSandra (Tyler) Hamilton, Jazmin Distefand, Kaylee Settles and Gavin Shaffer; Great Grandson: Bently Settles; Beloved Pet: Pepper; Best Friend: Jim Bottoms. Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, OH with Pastor Rodney Dunn officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 5:00 to7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
