Floyd Crank

FLOYD CRANK, 92, of Eaton and formerly of New Paris and Perrysburg, Ohio, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at Vancrest Health Care Center of Eaton where he had been a resident since 2006. He was born on April 13, 1916 in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, son of the late George T. & Jennie Lou (Montgomery) Crank. He attended the Old Bell school house in Preble County and was a Preble County farmer for several years. He was the owner and operator of Floyd's Sunoco in Eaton during the 1960's and 70's. He and his wife then moved to California where he was the manager of the Greentree Exxon Station and was a landscaper and lawncare specialist in Hesperia, California until the age of 82. He was a member of the Eaton Baptist Temple in Eaton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Howard, Edward, Roy, Rufus, Herbert, Halla and John Crank.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gladys (Wilson) Crank; sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd Gordon and Marie Crank of Yermo, California, Darrell Wilson Crank of Wyona, Kansas, Thomas David and Naomi Crank of Eaton and Kirk Eugene and Mary Crank of Greenville, South Carolina; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda Joyce and Dale Overholts of Perrysburg, Ohio and Rhonda June and Doug Price of New Paris; Twenty-Four grandchildren and Numerous great and great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2008 at the Eaton Baptist Temple, 416 East Decatur St., Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 20, 2008 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio.
