Everett Ponder

EVERETT PONDER, age 85, of New Paris, Ohio died Thursday, January 2, 2003 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Born on July 10, 1917 in Livingston, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Jesse D. & Edna Lee (May) Ponder. He retired in 1979 with over 25 years at Johns Manville in Richmond, Indiana and had also recently retired from the Maintenance Department with the Jefferson Twp., Trustees in New Paris. Preceded in death by Brothers: Herbert Ponder, Ralph A. Ponder, Jesse L. “Bruce” Ponder and E. Leslie Ponder; Sisters: Allie B. Ponder, Cardova “Dorothy” Quisenberry and Sylvia E. Parker.

Survived by Wife of 62 years: Hazel (Cope) Ponder, Daughters & Son-in-law: E. Doris & H. Jerry Bottoms and Priscella D. Lamb, all of New Paris, Ohio; Sister: Audrey A. Lewis of Florida. 7 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 6, 2003 - 12:00 Noon at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main St. - New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Gilmer Smith officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris. Family will receive friends on Monday, January 6, 2003 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon at the funeral home.
