Eleanor A. Hake

ELEANOR ANTOINETTE HAKE, age 76, of Eaton, Ohio passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Grandview Medical Center, after an extended illness. Eleanor was the daughter of Roman and Marie (Leistenschneider) Rose. She was born September 1, 1931 in St. Henry, Ohio, graduated as Salutatorian from St. Henry High School in 1949.

Eleanor is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, John W. Hake. Also cherishing her memory are John and Eleanor's nine children and their spouses: Ronald (Julie) Hake, Diane (Douglas) Cole, Susan (Andrew) Conley, Kenneth (Karen) Hake, Peggy (Mark) Vosler, Mary (Chip) Christman, Rebecca (Douglas) Morin, John (Gretchen) Hake, and Julia (Joseph) DiCicco.

Mourning the loss of their Grandmother are Hannah, Charlotte, Shea and Kahlie Hake; Leslie and Jessica Cole and Emily (Ian) Cross; Shelley (Scott) Barney, Dustin Cole, Jessica and Nadine Conley; Nathan (Amy), Tony (Jocelyn), Ashley and Brittany Hake; Nikole and Rachael Stephenson; Alex (Amy) Vosler; Alyson (Caleb) Cosmi, Ashley (Shawn) Grubb; Joslyn (John) O'Grady, Jacob and John Christman; Sarah and John Morin, Emily Smyth, Rebecca Hake; Dylan, Blake and Luke DiCicco.

Also remembering Eleanor today are her great grandchildren: Ali Rae Bailey; Anna Barney; Dustin Cole, II; Camdyn Conley; Eleanor Hake; Hayley, Shade, Ashlynn, Rafe and Chance Vosler; Peyton Shillingburg and Brandon Boomershine.

Eleanor was preceded in death by brothers Paul, Herman and Alfred Rose and in-laws Audrey (Hake) and Floyd Watren, Bob Hake, Carey Hake and Ed and Mary (Hake) Dunham. She is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Luke & Edna Rose; Carl & Lucy Rose, Joe & Donna Rose and Fred & Irene Rose. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Berdella & Leonard Hemmelgarn, Regina & Elmer Hemmelgarn and Rita & John Schmitmeyer and Sisters-in-law & Brothers-in-law: Margaret, Juneta and Margie Rose, Juanita and Joanne Hake, Sylvia & Jim McCloud, Jim & Barb Hake, Pat & Rob Rudkin and Chris & Nick Barga as well as over 100 nieces and nephews.

Eleanor will be fondly remembered as a loving and devoted wife to her beloved husband, John, as a wonderful mother to her nine children and a doting grandmother and great grandmother.

While Eleanor lovingly raised her family, she also found the time to lead a full and rewarding professional life. She was an invaluable partner to her husband, sons and family in the success of Hake Bros. Construction. She was also a practicing Real Estate professional who had attained her Real Estate license in 1973, Brokers License in 1978 and became a Certified Residential Specialist in 1979. Eleanor eventually owned and operated her own business, Market Masters Realty.

Eleanor was a devout Catholic who was a longtime member of the Visitation Catholic Church and Saint Ann's Sodality.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Visitation Catholic Church - 407 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Father J. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Eleanor's family will receive friends on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rosary Service at 8:00 pm.
