E. Hester Greene Klipfer

Ellen “Hester” (Seals) Greene Klipfer, age 96 of Eaton, Ohio, died Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Beehive Homes of Springboro. She was born on March 20, 1926, in Germantown, Ohio, daughter of the late James Chelsey and Mary (Belcher) Seals. Hester was a 1944 Dixon-Israel High School graduate, attended Muskingum College and graduated in 1948 from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She taught English and Home Economics in the Eaton and Camden school systems from 1948 to 1963. A member of the Preble County Retired Teachers Association, Ohio Retired Teachers Association and was a volunteer at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Indiana, attended the Concord Church where she was a very active member and served as “Historian” for the church and Dixon Township. She loved to organize, host and plan events.

In addition to her parents, Hester was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred I. Greene in 1987; her second husband, Charles P. Klipfer, Sr. in 2021; brothers, Harmon Seals in 1981, George Herman Seals in 2012, and Steven Roger Seals in 2021, and sister, Alberta Rosalyn Schneider in 2014, brother-in-law, Ralph Schneider in 1996, and daughter-in-law, Charlene Klipfer in 2021.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and John Campbell, her daughter, Linda Kessler, and her son and daughter-in-law, Nelson F. “Ned” and Terri Greene; stepchildren, Mary C. (Mick) Copper, Charles P. (Cynthia) Klipfer, Jr. and James Klipfer; grandchildren, Christy Campbell, Andy (Darci) Campbell, Thomas Kessler, Eric Kessler, Kyle Greene, Meredith Greene (Fiancé Adam Jalali), Kristen Greene; 4 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Marilyn and Shirley Seals; many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Concord Church, 2225 Concord-Fairhaven Rd., Eaton, Ohio with Pastor Gerald R. Sadai officiating. Interment will be held in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, near Richmond, Indiana. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church.
