Duane Alan Powell

Duane Alan Powell, 62, of New Paris, Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Saviour Friday, February 11, 2022, at Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek, Ohio. He was born on November 16, 1959, in Hamilton, Ohio and was a 1978 graduate of Preble Shawnee High School and the Montgomery County Joint Vocational School in Clayton, Ohio. He was a retired welder having worked for Schneider Electric in Oxford, Ohio for many years. Duane was a member of the Castine Church, near Arcanum, where he was an active member of the Men’s Ministry, and he was a volunteer for his son’s Boy Scout Troop. He was an active outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and go mushroom hunting, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy H. (Howard) Powell.

Survived by his wife of 41 years, Alicia M. (Gardner) Powell; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Kayla Powell; daughter and son-in-law, Rachal and Kenny Rogers; father, William Powell, Sr.; brother and sister-in-law, William and Susan Powell, Jr.; grandchildren, Adalee and Carter Rogers and Taylor McCormick.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at the Castine Church, 624 US-127, Arcanum, OH with Pastor Greg Hyre officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
