Douglas Brashear

Douglas “Doug” Brashear, age 82, of Brookville, Ohio died on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton. Born on April 2, 1940 in Hazard, Perry Co., Kentucky, son of the late, Winfrey B. & Mary Elizabeth (Holland) Brashear. Doug owned & operated a bar in Cumberland, Kentucky many years ago. He had worked for Behnken Concrete in Brookville, Ohio. Doug also poured concrete in the Lewisburg Caves at the Mine. He also enjoyed flipin houses with his daughter and son. Avid gardener especially vegetables. He had a nickname for everyone.

Preceded by his ex-wife, Wilma Louise (Blanton) Brashear in 2001; son, Henry W. “Butchie” Brashear in 2022; brothers, Donald Bush Brashear in 2021, Danny Brashear, Darwin Brashear, Denny Brashear and Darrell Brashear; sister, Deloris Banks.

Survived by his daughter, Rena (Junior) Mull of Lewisburg, Ohio; son, Denny (Crystal) Brashear of Lewisburg, Ohio; fiancée, Debbie Owens of New Lebanon, Ohio; sisters, Mary Katherine “Katie” Martin of Barbourville, Kentucky, Delena McKnight of Gray, Kentucky and Deborah (Bruce) Davidson of Viper, Kentucky; grandchildren, Douglas Bowsman and Sarah Osterhaus; great grandchildren, Braiden, Haven, Zaiden, Bently, Dreyden, Kilian, Adara, Colton, Chase, Hailey and Brent; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio. Family will receive from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday prior to the funeral. Interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, Ohio.
