D. Jane Robinson

D. Jane (Ewing) Robinson age 82 of Somerville, Ohio passed on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Kettering Hospital in Kettering, Ohio. Jane was born on March 2, 1939, in Wellington, (Lorain County) Ohio daughter of the late Charles E. & Doris M. (Kennedy) Ewing. Jane completed 12 years in Wellington Exempted School Systems with a diploma granted in 1957. She was a stay-at-home Mom with exception of a few years in party plan sales and had some experience with insurance and securities. The more noteworthy job Jane held was with the Somerville Post Office from 1978 through 1985 when her health issues required giving that up. Once those issues cleared, Jane started her own business of cleaning houses and businesses for several years. Having volunteered in a supporting role with the Somerville Volunteer Fire Department, there came a time when the natural progression of things caused Jane to take the next step and train to do the firefighting side of things. Before retiring, Jane had put in 36 years of service at various levels, and at one time volunteered to instruct students at middle school level in CPR. She was an active member of the Somerville Community Church, Organist and Elder.

Survivors include her husband: Richard Leon Robinson of 64 years; children: David L. & Theresa Robinson of Brookville, Indiana; Michael J. & Nancy Robinson of Oxford, Ohio and Steven J. Robinson of Richmond, Kentucky; grandchildren: Tabitha K. Robinson of Hamilton, Ohio; Emma Lee C. Robinson of Frankfort, KY and Devan M. Robinson of Richmond, KY.; brothers & sisters-in-law: Thomas & Michelle Ewing of Temple, TX and John & Sharon Ewing of Wooster, Ohio. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be 5:00 PM Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Somerville Community Church – Somerville, Ohio. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery Camden, Ohio at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Somerville Community Church – P.O. Box 232 Somerville, Ohio 45064.
