Cyril B. Lochtefeld

CYRIL B. LOCHTEFELD, age 82, of New Paris, Ohio died Wednesday, January 29, 2003 at Oak Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center in Richmond, Indiana after a short illness. Born on July 31, 1920 in St. Rose, Mercer County, Ohio, he was the son of the late August & Flora (Garman) Lochtefeld. He retired in 1973 after 30 years at Frigidaire in Dayton, Ohio, a WW II U.S. Army veteran having earned the Purple Heart, member of American Legion Post #245 in New Madison, Ohio, V.F.W. Post #3288 in Brookville, Ohio and Fraternal Order of Eagles in Greenville, Ohio. He had also been a Bus Driver for National Trail School District. Preceded in death by Wife: Loise E. (Evans) Lochtefeld in 1987; Sisters: Edna Camp & Alfreda Decker.

Survived by Sons & Daughters-in-law: James M. & Jenny Snetz, Walbridge, Ohio and Wayne L. & Bobbie Kingery, West Carrollton, Ohio; Brothers: Leroy Lochtefeld, Sidney, Ohio and Robert “Butch” Lochtefeld, Celina, Ohio; Sister: Martha Kirk of Florida; Special Friend: Grace Hanes, 3 Grandchildren, Many Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 31, 2003 - 10:00 A.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church - North Spring Street - New Paris, Ohio with Rev. J. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris with full military graveside service by the Darke County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 30, 2003 from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio.
