Charles A. Waltz

Charles A. Waltz, age 70, of Eaton, Ohio died Saturday, June 16, 2007 at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Ohio. Born on January 6, 1937 in Franklin County, Indiana , he was the son of the late Howard M. & Grace M. (Wendel) Waltz. Charles was a Dairy Farmer and General Handyman in the Eaton area and had retired in May 2007 from Maronda Integrated Products of Ohio in Eaton, OH. He served with the U. S. Army from 1955 to 1957 and in Germany. Member and Assistant Deacon of Concord United Church of Christ, Sunday School Superintendent, Church Choir member; former Dixon-Israel Men’s Club; Board member of Preble County Mental Health & Recovery Board and the Butler and Preble County Farm Bureau. Former College Corner, Ohio Council Member and Assistant Mayor. Preceded in death by a infant son in 1968 and infant grandson in 2001.

Survived by his wife of 43 years: Nancy E. (Clark) Waltz; Sons & Daughters-in-law: Matthew W. & Heidi Waltz of Eaton, OH and Mark E. & Anastasia Waltz of Miamisburg, OH; Daughter & Son-in-law: Ann E. & Richard Dykes of Winfield, TN; Brothers: Marvin (Mary Catherine) Waltz of Okeana, OH and David Waltz of Richmond, IN; Sister: Elaine (Thomas) Noe of Princeton, WV; 9 Grandchildren: Roger Dykes, Melinda Dykes, Donnie Kell, Nate Kell, Adrian Barton, CeaJae Dykes, Richie Dykes, Grace Waltz and Matti Waltz. Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Concord United Church of Christ - 2225 Concord Fairhaven Road - Eaton, OH. Interment will be in College Corner Cemetery - College Corner, IN with full military graveside honors provided by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends Tuesday, June 19, 2007 from 4 to 8 PM at Barnes Funeral Home- 220 East Main Street- Eaton, Ohio and one hour prior to the service at the church.
