Catherine L. Mowen Rackel

CATHERINE L. "KATIE" MOWEN RACKEL, age 84, of Eaton, OH, died Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. Born on January 27, 1927 in Columbus, OH, she was the daughter of the late Patrick Henry & Sarah E. 'Sadie" (Seitz) Garrett. Catherine retired in 1992 after 20 years with Baxter in Eaton. She enjoyed dancing on Thursday at the Legion Hall in West Alexandria, OH.

Preceded in death by her Husbands: Lawrence D. "Bud" Mowen in 1983 and Henry M. Rackel in 1994; Sons: Michael D. "Mikey" Mowen in 1955 and Harold E. "Doc" Mowen in 1991; Brothers: Willard K. Garrett, Patrick Henry Garrett, Jr. and Harold Garrett; Sisters: Dorothy E. Anderson, Famah Garrett, Nina L. Cohagan and Edna Garrett.

Survived by Daughter & Son-in-law: Cynthia L. "Cindy" & William Wolfrey, San Tan Valley, AZ; Son & Daughter-in-law: Mark E. & Danita (Wysong) Mowen, Eaton, OH; Daughter-in-law: Dawn Mowen, Eaton, OH; Grandchildren: Christeen & Ross Durfey, AZ, Andy Wolfrey & Fiancée Terra Ackerman, AZ, Megan & James Brookshire, Eldorado, OH, Lauren Mowen, Eaton, OH; Great Grandchildren: Austin Wolfrey, Cailin, Hannah & Leah Durfey, Bailey & Garrett Wolfrey.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Lowell T. Spencer officiating. Interment will be held in Twin Valley Cemetery, Lanier Twp., Preble Co., OH. Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
