Carolyn "Kay" Sutton

Carolyn “Kay” Sutton, age 76 of Elkin, North Carolina and formerly of Eldorado, Ohio, died Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was born on December 21, 1944, in Eldorado, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Elwood M. & Sarah Ellen (Cromwell) Brown. A 1962 Monroe High School graduate, she was a bus driver for National Trail Schools for many years and had worked at Neaton Auto Parts in Eaton in Quality Assurance. Kay was a member of St. John Catholic Church in New Paris, Ohio. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Larry” Sutton in 2014; sisters, an infant sister in 1943, Thelma Wenclewicz in 1973, and Marilyn Hensley in 2020; brother, Robert Ira Brown in 1982. 

Kay is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Kevin O’Donnell; grandsons, Andrew Ryan Hayes and Ethan Wayne Hayes; sister, Helen Kapp; nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at St. John Catholic Church, 400 N. Spring St., New Paris, Ohio with Father David Doseck officiating. Interment will be held in Wares Chapel Cemetery, Foos Rd., West Manchester, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church.
