Carolyn B. Walker

Carolyn B. Walker, age 58, of New Paris, Ohio died Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN after a life long illness . Born on June 29, 1947 in Richmond, IN she was the daughter of Melvin R. & Anna M. (Miller) Scott of New Paris, OH. She was a 1965 graduate of Jefferson High School in New Paris and was the class of 1965 Valedictorian. During 1969 to 1974 she had worked at GTE in Richmond, IN as a telephone operator and had been employed at Dr. Daggy & Dr. Hunteman offices in Richmond. In 1992 she was awarded the Employee of the Year Award by Richmond Community Council on Disability Awareness. Preceded in death by brother: Michael R. Scott in 2002, Maternal Grandmother: Dorothy Miller Philips in 1984 and Paternal Grandmother: Ella Russel in 1998.

Survived by Husband of 34 years, Steven H. Walker; Sons & Daughter-in-law: Montgomery S. & Heather A. Walker of Dayton, OH and Steven D. Walker of Canton, MI. Sisters: Rita K. Harvey of New Paris, OH and Melva Sue Scott of Centerville, IN. Brothers: David R. Scott of Rushville, IN, Daniel M. Scott of North Carolina, Randall E. Scott of Orlando, FL and Stanley A. Scott of Greenfield, IN. Grandchildren: Ryan Alan Stronberg and Anna Beth Walker; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 7, 2006 - 1:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Jeff Griffin officiating. Interment will be in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, OH. Family will receive friends Friday, January 6, 2006 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
