CAREY THOMAS HAKE, age 76 of Eaton, Ohio died Monday, September 23, 2002 at Hospice of Dayton. Born on August 3, 1926 in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Fred William & Flora Christine (Rodler) Hake. Carey was a Partner with Hake Brothers Construction, a WW II U.S. Army veteran and a U.S. Air Force Korean Conflict veteran. He was the Secretary of the Preble County Veteran's Commission, member of V.F.W. Post #8066 and American Legion Post #215, both of Eaton, Eagles Lodge Aerie #2177 of Greenville, Ohio and Knights of Columbus Council No. 3698 of Eaton, Ohio, LaSociétéDes 40 Hommes Et 8 Chevauk (Voiture Local # 546) and the 82nd Airborne Division Association and Visitation Catholic Church of Eaton. Preceded in death by Sister & Brother-In-Law: Audrey & Floyd Watron.

Survived by Wife: Joanne (Oliver) Hake; Daughters & Sons-In-Law: Deborah Brown and Cathleen Baker both of of Eaton, Oh., Colleen & Gregory Frazier of Chapel Hill, N.C., Sharleen & William Cope of Sadieville, Ky.; Sons & Daughters-in-law: Keith & Lula Hake of Delaware, Oh., Philip & Stacy Hake of Columbus, Oh., Theodore & Susan Hake of Canton, Oh.; Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Robert & Juanita Hake and John & Eleanor Hake, both of Eaton, Ohio, James & Barbara Hake of Lewisburg, Oh.; Sisters & Brothers-in-law: Sylvia & James McCloud of Brunswick, Ga., Patricia & Robert Rudkin, of Malakoff, Tx., Mary & Edward Dunham of Bedford, N.H., Christine & Nicholas Barga of Jacksonville, Fl. 17 Grandchildren: Dionne (Terrance) Addison, Dyan Brown, Derek Brown, Lucas (Stacy) Baker, Matthew Baker, Carrie Lou Campbell, Alex & Austen Cope, Mariah Hake, Courtney, Alex, Emily & Grace Hake, Sarah, Jennifer, Scott & Michael Hake; 4 Great Grandchildren: Carmen & Jordyn Addison, Brandon Brown & Alecia Baker, Nieces, Nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2002 - 10:00 A.M. (Ohio Time) at Visitation Catholic Church - 407 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. J. Thomas Fitzsimmons officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton, Ohio with full military graveside services by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 from 5 - 8 P.M. (Ohio Time) at Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with a Rosary Service at 8:00 P.M.
