Billy Joe Kouts

Billy Joe Kouts age 73, of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Saturday, February 7, 2015 at his residence. Born on January 17, 1942 in Lewisburg, OH he was the son of the late Jesse R. & Ella May (Shively) Kouts. Billy was a 1961 Lewisburg Union High school grad and served in Vietnam in 1965 with the U.S. Army receiving the Purple Heart. He retired in 2002 as a Supervisor with Collins Plating in Loveland, Colorado. A life member of the V.F.W. of Celina, OH; D.A.V. of Phoenix, AZ; and First United Church of Christ of Lewisburg, OH.

He is preceded in death by brothers: Charles Kouts, Francis Kouts, Harold Kouts and Ralph Kouts; nephew: Richard Kouts.

Survived by his wife of 46 years: Sharon Kay (Weills) Kouts; sister: Ruth E. (Danny) Olinger of Lewisburg, OH; brothers: Russell L. Kouts of Coldwater, OH and Robert R. (Gwen) Kouts of West Milton, OH; sisters-in-law: Nancy L. Kouts of Brookville, OH; Jeanette Kouts of Florida; Irene Kouts and Rowena Kouts both of Lewisburg, OH; several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at First United Church of Christ, 400 North Main Street, Lewisburg, OH. The funeral service will be held 1:00 PM at the church with Rev. Dave Justis officiating. The Preble County Honor Guard will provide military honors at the church. Interment will be held in Roselawn Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
