Betty L. Daugherty

Betty L. Daugherty, age 70, of New Paris, Ohio, passed away Thursday afternoon February 3, 2005 at Miami Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born on October 14, 1934 in Richmond, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Charles & Hazel (Shafer) Carroll. Betty was a 1953 graduate of Richmond High School. She retired in June of 1993 from Belden Wire & Cable Corporation in Richmond after 24 years of service as a Production Clerk. She enjoyed bowling, vacations with her family and caring for her flower gardens. She was a wonderfully giving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Preceded in death by brother: James Carroll, sister: Maxine Stover, sisters-in-law: Viola Carroll and Marg Carroll; brother-in law: Ray Stover.

Survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, William T. “Bill” Daugherty, loving children: Susan & Chris Begley of Eaton, Ohio, Cynthia A. Daugherty, Michael Daugherty, Timothy Daugherty and Billy T. Daugherty all of New Paris, Ohio; daughter-in-law: Sheila Daugherty of New Paris, Ohio; sisters & brothers-in-law: Margerite & Charles Bradshaw of New Paris, Ohio and Marilyn & Ron Rodgers of Richmond, Indiana; brother: Charles E. Carroll of Richmond, Indiana; 15 grandchildren: Stacey Drewry, Kristie Shook, Michelle Thompson, Amy Davis, Sarah Fealy, Jamie Daugherty, Brandi Daugherty, Timmy Daugherty, Brittney Daugherty, Tiffany Daugherty, Mandy Shaner, Brian Shaner, Christopher Begley, Jerod Daugherty and Emily Daugherty. 12 great grandchildren: Brandon Drewry, Randy Drewry, Kali Drewry, Blake Shook, James Thompson, Mollie Thompson, Monica Thompson, Gracie Davis, Sierra Fealy, Lillian Fealy, Lillian Daugherty and Ethan Daugherty.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 - 2:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with Rev. Robert Dungan officiating. Family will receive friends Monday, February 7, 2005 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.
