Betty J. Locke

Betty J. Kennard (Bredenbeck) Locke, surrounded by her three children, went to be with her Lord on Monday, February 21, 2022. She was 95 years old and living with her daughter, Deana & Keith Price in Bakersfield, CA. Born on May 16, 1926, in St. Charles, MO. she was one of four daughters born to Elmer and Myrtle Bredenbeck. Betty married Jerrold Dean Locke, son of Herschel and Edith Locke, and raised her family of three children in Lewisburg, Ohio. She loved history and was an avid ancestry buff. As the family historian, she not only delved deeply into her Bredenbeck/Clark lineage but also into the Locke/Milstead lineage.

Betty is survived by her three children and fourteen grandchildren: Her daughter Rebecca A. (Jim) Carver, and children Danielle Kean, Jarrett Carver, James Carver and Joshua Carver; son Jerrold E Locke (Pamela), and children, Shelly Azzopardi, Joshua Locke, Anissa Conway, Elizabeth Dye, Amanda Dustin, and Matthew Decker; and her daughter Deana R. (Keith) Price, and children, Sarah Paullus, Erin Magnuson, and Jacob Price. She is also the proud great-grandmother (Gigi) of thirty-one and has one great-great grandson.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her three sisters; Eileen Benitez, Esther Petering, and Carol Oelklaus; infant son Brian in 1961, her husband Dean Locke in 1982, her granddaughter Emily Locke in 1993 and second husband Oscar Kennard in 2012.

A time of greeting with the family will begin 2:00 PM Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Trinity Lutheran Church 511 North Commerce Street Lewisburg, Ohio. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 4:00 P.M at the church. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Roselawn Cemetery in Lewisburg, Ohio.
