Bessie I. Elliott

Bessie I. Elliott, 100 of Eaton, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at her residence. Born on August 2, 1921, in Brookville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Webster C. & Cora (Moore) Steiner. 

Bessie was a 1939 Brookville High School graduate and has lived in Preble County since 1940. She attended Twin Creek Chapel Church, Verona United Methodist Church and was an active member of Bible Study Fellowship in Richmond, Indiana. She received the Preble County Senior Citizens Award in 2003; volunteered at Greenbriar Nursing Home for many years; member of Preble County Farm Bureau; loved playing cards and traveling.  

Preceded in death by her Husband: Glen B. Elliott, Sr. in 1991; Son: Glen B. Elliott, Jr. in 2021; Grandson: Douglas Weist in 1978; Sisters: Mildred Eyler in 1985; Mary Roberts in 2003; Edna Brown in 2021; Brothers: Webster Steiner, Jr. in 1926 and Kenneth Steiner in 2016. 

Survivors include her daughters & sons-In-Law: Patricia & Howard Weist of Eldorado, OH and Elaine & Ron Baker of Eaton, OH; 3 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren and 11 Great Great Grandchildren. 

Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 N. Commerce St., Lewisburg, Ohio. The funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Gutheil officiating. Interment will be held in Arlington Cemetery – Brookville, Ohio.
