Obituary

Teresa H. Thompson, 61 of Eaton, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at The James Cancer Hospital at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.

Teresa was born on August 3, 1965, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Howard R. & Donna Jean (Wendt) Grody. She was a 1983 Eaton High School graduate. Insurance Agent with Simon Insurance Agency and Heeter Insurance Agency for over 32 years. She has also worked for Diversified Sign Company and CPA Larry Englert. She was a volunteer for the Preble County Board of Elections for many years.

Teresa found great joy in working in her yard and had a love for flowers of all kinds. She was happiest caring for those around her and had an especially generous heart for the children of her close friends, always finding little ways to make them feel loved and special. When it came to her nieces and nephews, Teresa never missed an opportunity to show up—whether it was cheering them on at a sporting event, attending a school function, or supporting their latest fundraiser. She was incredibly proud of them and made sure they always knew how deeply they were loved.

She is survived by her Husband of 42 years: Daniel P. Thompson; Sisters & brothers-in-law: Debbie & Jay Coleman of Dayton, Ohio, Terri & Joe Gray of Dayton, Ohio, Tracy & Charles Nider of Dublin, Ohio, Tammy & John Buehner of Connersville, Indiana. Nieces and Nephews: Tyler, Alaina, Caroline, Bryan, Christopher, Dustin, Damon, and Blaine Brubaker.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio. The funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 9, 2026, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery – West Alexandria, Ohio.
