Thelma Louise Snelling

Thelma Louise (Owens) Snelling, 90, of New Paris, Ohio, died Monday, February 28, 2011, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. Born on August 5, 1920 in Louisville, KY she was the daughter of the late Lee Walter & Jennie Elizabeth (Ashbaugh) Owens. Thelma graduated in 1938 from Jefferson Township High School. Thelma retired in 2001 after 40 years as an office manager for Eubanks Insurance Agency in New Paris, OH. Member of the Delta Theta Tau.

Preceded by husband, Robert Franklin Snelling in 1961; brothers, William J. "Bill" Owens in 2006, Lee J. "Doc" Owens, Jr. in 1997; sister, Mary A. Burton in 1991.

Survivors include daughter, Deborah Kay Davis of New Paris, OH; son, Robert Joseph "Joe" Snelling of Crawfordsville, FL; grandchildren, Rae Ann (John) Downing, Jennifer Elizabeth (Chris) Thompson, Robert James "Moose" (Larrin) Davis, Keith Duane (Jessica) Davis, Vanessa Kay Davis, Jacob Snelling, Jonah Snelling, and Hannah Snelling; great grandchildren, Spencer, Katherine, Graham, Carson, Maleiah, Makayla, Zachary, Cullen, Liam, Grady, Delilah, Elijah, and Olivia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, OH. Interment will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, OH. Family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
