Ronald E. Richie

RONALD E. RICHIE, age 70, of New Paris, OH, died on Friday, June 17, 2011 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. Born on February 22, 1941 in Richmond, IN, he was the son of the late George Gilbert and Helen L. (Swihart) Richie. Ron retired in 1989 from NATCO after 30 years of service. He later worked for Lewisburg Container for 7 years. A 1959 graduate of Jefferson Township High School; he was a founding member of the New Paris Pee Wee football program; served as a Baseball coach in New Paris and Richmond area; member of the Fellowship Lodge #106 F&AM at New Paris, OH. Preceded in death by a sister, Patricia A. Richie in 1946.

Survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol A. (Breeden) Richie; children: Rhonda Pitts of Tampa, FL, Todd (Angi) Richie and Ted (Lisa) Richie both of New Paris, OH. Grandchildren: Daryl (Nicole) Richie of MA, William Richie of IN and Kylie Richie and fiance Anthony Gilbert of New Paris, OH. Step grandchildren: Austin & Taylor Call of New Paris, OH, Justin Hensel of Eaton, OH, and Mark Hensel of West Manchester, OH. A step great grandchild: Landon Taylor of New Paris, OH. Aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, OH with Joe Moore officiating. Barnes Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, New Paris, OH, entrusted with the arrangements.
