Ray Arnold Staley

Ray Arnold Staley, age 76, formerly of Somerville, OH passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 after a long battle with COPD. Ray was born on November 19, 1937 in Somerville, Ohio to the late Douglas and Minnie (Gividen) Staley. Ray graduated from McGuffey High School in 1954. Preceded in death by his wife, Darlene J. (Hartman) Staley; sisters, Clema Atkinson, Mildred Spitler; brother, Douglas H. Staley.

Ray retired from ARMCO Steel after 33 ½ years. He was also a dedicated farmer. Ray provided for his family and was a devoted husband. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he never said no to a friend in need. As an active participant in 4-H, he not only helped his own children but also any who needed a hand. He was a stern but quiet man, yet loving and caring at the same time.

Survived by wife, Sharon (Berry) Staley; sister, Eunice Sandgren of Washington State; children, Jeanna Parks of College Corner, Martin (Leanne) Staley of Somerville and Steven (Kelly) Staley of Falling Waters, West Virginia; 6 Grandchildren; and one Great Granddaughter.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Nein-Barnes Funeral Home, 249 North Main Street, Camden, Ohio with Rev. Charles Anderson officiating.
