Oaklie Scarberry

OAKLIE SCARBERRY, age 82, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of New Paris, Ohio died Monday, December 16, 2002 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on June 1, 1920 in Nippa, Johnson County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Roy & Lou (Brown) Scarberry. He had worked for V.H. Yearling’s and Sons in Richmond, Indiana and was a U.S. Army WW II veteran. Preceded in death by Brother: Willie Scarberry, Sisters: Smolie Daniels, Pearlie Meade, Gracie Brown, Sible Burns and Margaret Scarberry.

Survived by his Former Wife: Shirley Imalee (Young) Scarberry, New Paris, Ohio; Daughter: Sandra L. Scarberry, Indianapolis, Indiana; Brother & Sister-in-law: Emery & Elizabeth Scarberry, Creston, Ohio; Sister & Brother-in-law: Maxie & Cecil Blair, Nippa, Kentucky. Nieces & Nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2002 - 2:00 P.M. at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street, New Paris, OH with Nephew Willie Brown officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio with Military Graveside Service by the Preble County Honor Guard. Family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19, 2002 from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to any Veteran’s Organizations.
