Norma A. Arthur

NORMA A. ARTHUR, 87, of Eaton, Ohio, died Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Hospice of Dayton. Born on May 1, 1921, in Preble County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Corwin and Mary Luetta (Poffenberger) Jeanes. She was a 1939 graduate of Monroe High School and so enjoyed attending her class reunions each year. Norma was a housekeeper for the office of Dr. Peter Sambol in Eaton and had also worked at Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Indiana, DiFederico's Lampost in New Paris, Ohio and many area truck stops. In addition to her parents Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Mervin Kenneth Arthur in 1960; son, Kenneth Arthur in 1988; sister, Myrtle Straley in 1994 and brother, Alvin Jeanes in 1943.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Hugh J. & Becky Arthur of West Manchester, Ohio; daughters and sons-in-law, Diane & Wayne Renfroe of Lansing, Michigan and Maureen & Maynard Shumaker of West Manchester; granddaughters & spouses, Rhonda & Todd Gebhart and Melissa & Dan Rees all of Lewisburg; great grandsons, Ryan & Kyle Gebhart and Tyler & Travis Rees.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Dayton and neighbors Dave and Sherry Bell for all their help and support during this difficult time.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main Street, Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Bryan Rea officiating. Interment will be held in Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home.
