Marcia Mae Smith

Marcia Mae (Becker) Smith, age 79, died surrounded by her loving family November 19, 2010. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard Charles and Florence May (Barnes) Becker; brother, Donald Barnes Becker in 1964; and great-grandson, Cole Mikle Smith.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years, Robert; children, Rob (Anne), Doug (Dana), Craig (Lori), Kirk (Wendy), Chris; grandchildren, Kelly (Robert), Jason (Nicole), Justin (Raeann), Makenzie, Natalie, Chelsea (Kevin), Dustin, Nathaniel, Jennifer and Tucker; and great grandchildren, Caroline, Annarose and Becker.

She was born April 28, 1931 in Eaton, Ohio. A 1949 graduate of Eaton High School and was a 1954 graduate of Ohio University where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. Bob was stationed in French Morocco. They returned to Ohio and after a few moves they settled in Forest Park West where they raised the four boys. They are founding members of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Marcia taught many years at St. Andrew Presbyterian Preschool, was a member of For-Mel Women's Club, St. Anthony Women's Club, and various bridge clubs. Through her life she and Bob enjoyed traveling to beautiful destinations especially to North Myrtle Breach with her entire family. In retirement she enjoyed the many fruits of Bob's labor of love for her including tomatoes and lovely roses. Most recently her greatest pleasure was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all of her loved ones.

Family will receive friends Monday, November 22, 2010 from 4-7pm at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229; with a vigil prayer services at 6:30. Mass of Christian Burial will be on November 23, 2010 at 11:00am at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 1300 Urban Drive, Columbus, OH 43229 with Father Thomas Petry celebrant and son, Deacon Craig Smith assisting. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
