Leroy George

Leroy George, 81, of Eaton, OH passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Kindred Hospital in Dayton, OH. Born on May 19, 1934 in Columbus, IN, son of the late Andy Ervin & Alta May (Wilson) George. Leroy had worked at Voice of America Radio Station for many years. Leroy was a Vietnam veteran, proudly serving in the US Navy from 1955 to 1976 and served on the USS Guam, USS Enterprise, USS Saratoga and USS Independence.

Preceded in death by sister, Merrille Wildman and brother, Leon George.

Survived by his wife of 56 years, Sherry (Kleinhenn) George of Eaton, OH; children, Tony (Lynn) George of Elkhart, IN and Lynnette (Pat) Neff of Dayton, OH; sister, Louise Bartlett of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren, Doug Neff and Laura Neff.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, OH with Wayne Bartlett and Paul Maurer officiating. Interment will be held at Evansport Cemetery in Evansport, OH at the convenience of the family at a later date.
