James Franklin Pierce

JAMES FRANKLIN PIERCE, age 91, of Camden, Ohio, died peacefully at his home, Saturday, May 23, 2009. Born on December 27, 1917 in Highland County, Ohio, he was the son of the late Joseph & Mary Florence (Brewer) Pierce. James graduated from Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio. James was an avid musician, loved music and belonged to the "Sonny Mountain Boys" band. James performed on the WSMK Radio Station in the 1920's and 1930's. James owned and operated Pierce's Photo Lab in New Lebanon, Ohio for several years and was a self employed Carpenter all his life. James enjoyed repairing sewing machines in the Camden area. James was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Camden, Ohio.

Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn C. (Miller) Pierce in 2000; brothers, Joseph Pierce, Gerald Pierce and Harry Pierce; sisters, Juanita King, Marcella Hoovator

Survived by his son & daughter-in-law, Clyde R. & Beverly Miller of Dayton, Ohio; daughters & sons-in-law, Judy & Dale Fahrenholz, Carolyn & Wayne Keener and Debra & James Gibson all of Preble County, Ohio; brother, Jack Pierce of Miamisburg, Ohio, sisters, June Boyer of Miamisburg, Ohio and Doris Payne of Englewood, Ohio; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Nein - Barnes Funeral Home, 249 North Main Street, Camden, Ohio with Rev. Trevor Bridgeford officiating. Interment will be held at Fairmount Cemetery in Camden, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the funeral home.
