DANA SUE HOLLINGER, age 64, of Lone Rock, Iowa, died Sunday, September 25, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa. Dana was born on May 31, 1941 in Union City, Indiana, daughter of Richard K. and Alice (Nealigh) Ayers. She grew up in Union City, Indiana until the age of 17 when her family moved to Santa Clara, California. Dana graduated from Freemont High School in Santa Clara, California in 1959 and then attended Foothill College in Mountain View, California majoring in Primary Education. Dana married Ted Hollinger on August 5, 1961 in Santa Clara, California and lived in Saratoga, California until 1974. Dana & Ted moved to Grass Valley, California where they lived until 1984 and then moved to Bend, Oregon to start Advanced Power Technology. In 1991, they moved to Greeneville, Tennessee where they owned and ran APC-Onsite, Inc. In 1999 Ford Motor Company moved them to Dearborn, Michigan and in 2003, they moved to Algona, Iowa to start the Hydrogen Engine Center. Dana, along with Ted were the founders. Dana attended the First Baptist Church in Algona, Iowa. She was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary, and was very active in the Kossuth County Right to Life group. Dana loved reading and swimming, she was a polio survivor. She owned a Christian book store and worked for a time at a local book store in Algona, Iowa. Dana loved her 3 children and 14 grandchildren and traveled often to see them. She loved Christmas and loved to give to others. Dana maintained contact with people in every community that she had lived in and often returned for visits. She was very humble and when she did things for people she did not want credit. A queen she was, but never on a pedestal. She was preceded in death by her father: Richard Ayers.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years: Ted Hollinger of Lone Rock, Iowa; sons & daughter-in-laws: Rev. Kevin & Paige Hollinger of Algona, Iowa and Matthew & Amy Hollinger of Molalla, Oregon; daughter & son-in-law: Susan & Keith Gonzales of Sacramento, California; mother: Alice Ayers of Titusville, Florida; brother; Phil Ayers of Titusville, Florida; brother-in-law: Terry Hollinger and his wife Martha of Tucson, Arizona; Nieces: Monica and Michelle. 14 grandchildren: Jaclyn, Jonmichael, Trevor, Jori, Joseph, Jenna, Zane, Joshua, Noah, Anastasia, Dasha, Peter, Isaiah, and Payton.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:30 AM (Ohio Time) on Monday, October 3, 2005 at Mound Hill Union Cemetery in Eaton, Ohio with her son Rev. Kevin Hollinger officiating. Memorials may be directed to the Kossuth County Right to Life in memory of Dana S. Hollinger.
