Charlotte (Grothaus) Earhart

CHARLOTTE (GROTHAUS) EARHART, age 96, formerly of Seven Mile, Ohio, died, Monday, April 20, 2009 in Lebanon, Ohio. Born on October 3, 1912 in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edward D. & Lottie (Werle) Grothaus. Charlotte graduated from Somerville High School and from Miami University with an Education Degree. Charlotte started teaching in 1933 at Colerain Elementary School. She was a teacher for 35 years having also taught at Trenton Elementary School and New Miami Elementary School. Attended the Lindenwald United Methodist Church in Hamilton, Ohio. Lifetime Member of Ohio Education Association and Butler County Teachers Association.

Preceded by her husband of 39 years, Maurice Estyl Earhart in 1973; brother, Howard Grothaus; sister, Edna Heinlein.

Survived by her daughters & son-in-laws, Ellen & Robert Campbell of Waynesville, Ohio and Mary & David Read of Loveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Terry Gadd, Michael Gadd, Matthew Read, Ryan Read, Marisa Read; great grandchildren, Erica, Danielle, Owen, Nora, Dustin, Rachel and Ashley; great great granddaughter, Alyssa; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009 at Somerville Cemetery in Somerville, Ohio with Rev. Roy Wigal officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Nein Barnes Funeral Home, 249 North Main Street, Camden, Ohio.
