Carl M. Petry

CARL M. PETRY, age 92, of Avon Park Florida, and formerly of Dayton, Ohio, died Saturday, October 25, 2003 at The Oakes of Avon Park. Born on February 17, 1911 in Kitchell, Indiana, he was the son of the late Cornelius C. & Emma (Toney) Petry. Mr. Petry was a graduate of the Indiana Business College and the Massey Business Institute. In 1973 he retired from the Broward Medical Center and had worked at Nabisco in Dayton, Ohio prior to moving to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1960. Member of the Masonic Lodge # 98 of Miamisburg, Ohio. Charter member and past treasurer of the Lorida Lions Club and past deacon of the Brethren Church in Lorida, Florida. Charter member of the Lorida Community Club and member of the Lorida Fire Department. Member of the Union Congregational Church in Avon Park, Florida. Preceded in death by Wife: Thelma M.(Wisener) Petry in 1990; Brothers: Harold and Paul Petry and a Step Brother: Alva Minnich;Sisters: Lela Ramey in 1972 and Elsie Olt in 1988.


Survived by: Daughter: Tonita Flint of Lima, Ohio; Son: Cordell “Mike” Petry of Avon Park, Florida; Sister: Olive Miller of Locanto, Florida; Two Grandchildren and Three Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday October 31, 2003 - 2:00 P.M. at the Barnes Funeral Home - 220 East Main Street - Eaton, Ohio with Rev. Dr. Daniel Curtis officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery in Eaton, (Dixon Township), Ohio. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 31, 2003 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
