Betty Jean Hofacker

BETTY JEAN (GARLAND) HOFACKER, age 62, of Arcanum, Ohio, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at University of Cincinnati Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on November 6, 1946 in London, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Emily (Onkst) Garland. Betty was an assembler for over 20 years at J. V. Products in Arcanum, Ohio. Member of the Castine Church of the Brethren in Arcanum, Ohio for 6 years.

Preceded in death by her step mother, Marie Garland; brothers, Gerald Garland, Melvin Garland; sister-in-law, Ruth Garland.

Survived by her husband of 36 years, Donald Ray Hofacker of Arcanum, Ohio; son & daughter-in-law, Jason D. & Melinda Hofacker of Arcanum, Ohio; daughter & son-in-law, Emily R. & Corbin Howard of New Hope, Ohio; brothers & sisters-in-law, Robert & Sandy Garland, Vernon & Carolyn Garland, Raleigh & Manerva Bowles all of London, Kentucky and Norman Garland of South Carolina; sisters & brother-in-law, Beulah Garland, Joyce "Sis" Lewis, Jane & Elmer Davis all of London, Kentucky; uncle, Estell Onkst of London, Kentucky; grandchildren, Tyler J. Hofacker, Jennifer S. Hofacker and Cheyenne M. Hofacker all of Arcanum, Ohio, Justine R. Howard, Shelby M. Howard, Corbin J. Howard II, Makenzie R. Howard and Emma R. Howard all of New Hope, Ohio; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Special pet, "Missy".

Funeral Service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at Castine Church of the Brethren, 624 US Route 127, Arcanum, Ohio with Rev. Gary Cloyd officiating. Family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the church and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2009 at Barnes Funeral Home, 411 North Commerce Street, Lewisburg, Ohio 45338. Interment will be held at Ithaca Cemetery in Arcanum, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Castine Church of the Brethren, 624 US Route, Arcanum, Ohio 45304.
