Obituary for Robert E Pickett

Robert E. Pickett, age 87, of New Paris, OH, went to his Forever Home on Tuesday, March 20, 2018.   Born on November 12, 1930 in Franklin Twp., Wayne Co., IN, son of the late Walter Ray & Marguerite (Baker) Pickett. Bob was a Proud Preble County Farmer for many years and retired from Roberts Express as a Truck Driver. He was an integral part of starting the Preble County Pork Festival and served on the Board for nearly 20 years. Member of First English Lutheran Church in Richmond, IN and member of Salt & Pepper Club.

Preceded by his Sister: Constance Ilene “Connie” Ford in 2011. Survived by his Wife of 68 years: Betty Jane (Bailey) Pickett; Children: Ellen (Tim) Love, Lynn Pickett, Duane (Rhonda) Pickett, David Pickett, Joanne (David) Porter, Gina (Kevin) Shendler and Shari (John) Veach; 13 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; Niece: Julie McKnight; numerous great nieces, cousins and friends.  The family would like to thank the staff of Forest Park Health Campus in Richmond, IN. 

Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at First English Lutheran Church, 2727 E. Main St., Richmond, IN with Rev. John R. Walker officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Church on Tuesday. Memorial Contributions may be made to First English Lutheran Church, 2727 E. Main St., Richmond, IN 47374.
