Obituary for Gladys J. Schutte

Gladys J. Schutte, 82 of Eaton, OH died Friday, July 13, 2018. Born on September 19, 1935 in Mercer County, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Urban T. & Dorothy E. (Piekenbrock) Hemmelgarn. Gladys was a Nurses Aid and retired in 1992 from Heartland of Eaton. She was a member of the Visitation Church in Eaton, loved to cook and enjoyed listening to the Gaither’s Music.

Preceded in death by her husband of 44 years: Norbert J. Schutte in 1999; sons; Craig A. Schutte in 2011; Gregg T. Schutte in 2016; brothers: Dale F. Hemmelgarn in 1985; Alan M. Hemmelgarn in 2016 and Lloyd Hemmelgarn. 

Survived by her son: Charles A. & Melissa Schutte of Eaton, OH and daughter: Rebecca & Fred Lamb of New Paris, OH. grandchildren: Christina & Joby Schutte Mitchell; Cynthia & Mike Gates; Andrew & Tonya Schutte; Megan & Antonio Johnson; Andrew Willett; Paul & Tish Borck; Alexis & Josh Stewart; Adam & Latisha Schutte and Chris & Stephanie Wright; several great grandchildren. 

Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Barnes Funeral Home – 220 East Main Street Eaton, Ohio. The funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Raymond Rothwell officiating. Interment will be in Preble Memory Gardens – West Alexandria, Ohio.
